Enzyme Testing

Here at SORA Labs we specialize in enzyme assays.  This testing is targeted toward the dietary supplement industry.  Enzymes have many health benefits.  Digestive enzymes are used to break down food and aid in digestion.

Enzymes are proteins that put things together or break things apart.  So when testing enzymes we are not looking for quantity or weight.  Enzymes are best measured by the work they are capable of doing.  The potency is usually recorded in the form of an activity unit.  Most plant and microbial enzymes are assayed using the Food Chemicals and Codex (FCC) standards.  Use of thes recognized assay procedures ensures that the methodology utilized can be reproduced to verify accuracy and legitimacy of the assay.

Performing enzyme assays take years of experience to develop accurate and repeatable results.  Our lab has been in business for over 20 years and has been involved in many proficiency testing studies to prove our capabilities and accuracy.  We are an ISO 9001:2008 certified and ISO 17025:2005 accredited testing facility.  ISO 9001:2008 applies to our quality management system as a whole.  ISO 17025:2005 is specific to testing labs, and is very stringent in its requirements. Many of our enzyme assays are included on our ISO 17025:2005 Scope of Accreditation.
